Good for what it is. October 17, 2008 A. Brisben (Los Angeles, CA) I would have preferred wall mounts, but my fiancee didn't want me putting holes in the wall. These speaker stands are functional. I'm not fond of the black particle board look, mainly because it screams 1985. The stands are easy to assemble. Do not over tighten the screws as they will easily strip the particle board. I like the panels you pop in the back to dress the cables. I didn't feed the cables through the top of the base because they don't work with the Tannoy speakers I'm using. I can't comment on the carpet spikes because we have hardwood floors in the living room and I never used them. I found the neoprene squares comical, threw them away, and used carpet tape instead to secure the speakers to the stands. Otherwise, the speakers slide on top of the stands and will easily fall off if bumped into. Carpet tape is a good solution because it keeps them in place but you can take the speakers off and put them back without trouble. Overall I'm happy with these stands as a solution. I don't really like the way they look, or any speaker stands for that matter, but they are very functional. I have to admit my speakers sound better since they are away from the walls. I would buy them again, but I wish they had a natural wood finish. Of course, that would drive up the price & the reason I bought these was a bang for the buck reason. In that sense, these stands do the job well.
Decent October 13, 2008 Michael Heid (Tally, FL) Yeah they have some cheap materials in them. and the layout for the speaker wire hiding makes no sense. (IE the speaker has to sit on the actual wire in some cases to get it to the hole below it. It also was annoying to assemble and took multiple tries. But it does get the job done if you need them. I am of the philosophy that the speaker stand should never cost more than the individual speaker it is holding so this one fit the bill.
Not bad at all October 7, 2008 T. Mathieson (Seattle, WA) I've had these stands for about a month now and they're just fine. For the price, you really can't beat 'em. I have no idea why speaker stands are so expensive when there's practically nothing to them. But these look good and hold my speakers so, there ya go. I have them on hardwood floors so no need for the carpet spikes. If you want to run the speaker wires through the holes in the base you'll need to apply some felt pads or little rubber feet or something to get the base slightly off the floor.
Excellent Product for the Price October 6, 2008 D. Elliott (Tucson, AZ USA) The speaker stands are easy to put together and are very sturdy. They look great and at the price they are hard to beat- strongly recommended.
Good for price September 30, 2008 Steven R. Wood (Georgia, VT. USA) SANUS SYSTEMS BF-31B Wood Speaker Stands Bought two pairs of these to highten my bookshelf speakers. Everything went together pretty easy. Some cracks in the wood when tightening the srews. Spikes are too big and couldn't get two stands through the carpet into the floor. I didn't put the slats on the back to hide the speaker wire, tape works just as good. Stands look good. If you're on a budget, these stands are perfect for the price. If you have a bigger budget, I'd research and go with a more expensive stand. I am happy overall with them.
